Aldi Deals 6/1-6/7

Here's a few things you might want to grab at Aldi this week:

Pineapple  .99 cents each
Blueberries  1.49 per pint
Strawberries  .99 cents per pound
Lg. Cantaloupe  .99 cents each

Other special items:
Looks like Aldi lowered prices on their frozen ice cream products this week by about .50 cents.  They also have some novelty items such as box fans, air-conditioners, etc.  that you might want to check out in the   weekly circular if that's something you're needing.

If you've never shopped at Aldi here's some things you need to know:

  • Bring a quarter with you to "rent" your shopping cart.  You'll get your quarter back after you return your shopping cart.  I always have a quarter in my car for this purpose!  :)
  • Bring cash or a debit card to make your purchases with.  Most Aldi's do NOT accept credit cards.
  • Bag your own groceries.
  • Bring your own bags or boxes to load your groceries in.  They do have bags for purchase at the register and sometimes there are empty boxes at the store you can use.
Reminder....Walmart will price match Aldi's advertised produce!

May Finals...

What a busy month is was!  May is always crazy for us as there are extra things to purchase including Memorial Day cook-outs, Graduation gifts,  Teacher gifts and end of the year field trips for the kids.  Then there's also the change of the seasons where we purchase gardening supplies, plants, flowers, etc, etc.  It's just a busy month!
If I've learned anything from tracking this month's spending habits I've learned that I need to budget for the above mentioned items more intentionally next year!  :)

Here's the break down of our May spending:

*Total spent in May = $658.13
Average weekly spending = $151.64
(This average is based on 4.34 weeks per month in a year.)

Total spent for the entire year = $1902.26
Average weekly spending for the year so far = $87.66

How did you do for May?  Does the end of the school year affect you too?  Do you intentionally do something to help out with the extra costs?  Leave a comment and share your thoughts!
